1.Project Overview

Located in the heart of Seoul’s electric Gangnam district, this high-end designer lounge caters to the city’s trendsetters and celebrities. The venue features floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the vibrant neon streets of Cheongdam-dong. The centerpiece of the interior is a massive circular brass bar. The client required a lighting fixture that would mirror the geometry of the bar and act as a glowing “crown” for the space, commanding attention without competing with the spectacular city view outside.

2.The Challenge

The project presented unique challenges typical of high-end nightlife venues:
Competing with Neon: The exterior view is flooded with bright, colorful neon signs. The chandelier needed enough presence to stand out against this busy background, but not so much brightness that it would cause glare or ruin the intimate atmosphere.
Zoning in an Open Space: The lounge is an open plan. The light needed to psychologically create a “room within a room” around the bar area, creating a sense of intimacy for guests sitting at the counter.
Reflection Control: With panoramic glass windows, a standard bulb chandelier would create distracting reflections, spoiling the view. The light source needed to be completely diffused.

3.The Tikanna Solution

We designed the “Orbit Cascade,” a massive, multi-tiered concentric ring chandelier:
Fluted Glass Texture: We utilized high-quality “Reeded” (Fluted) glass for the ring panels. This texture acts as a prism, softening the internal LED strips into a continuous, silky ribbon of light. It looks like glowing crystal fabric rather than harsh bulbs.
Brushed Bronze Finish: To match the luxurious metallic bar counter below, the fixture’s metalwork is finished in a “Brushed Champagne Bronze.” This creates a unified vertical column of gold, connecting the ceiling to the floor.
Tiered Cylindrical Structure: By stacking five concentric rings of varying heights, we created a sense of depth and volume. This structure draws the eye inward, making the bar feel like the absolute center of the universe—perfect for the “Gangnam Style” of being seen.

4.The Result

The chandelier has become the visual signature of the lounge. At night, it floats above the bar like a futuristic halo. The warm gold light provides a flattering filter for guests (perfect for selfies), while the structure holds its own against the cyber-punk aesthetic of the Seoul skyline. The client reports that the bar counter is now the most requested seating area in the venue.
